Rincon de la Victoria is located on the coast approximately 10km to the east of the Spanish city of
Malaga. Originally a fishing village, the beach in Rincon de la Victoria stretches for some 9km.
You will find
Las Cuevas del Tesoro [Treasure Caves] in the area where gold was supposed to have been hidden by Arabs. A series of underground caverns display stalagmites and stalactites as well as undergound pools and wall paintings. The caves are located in the La Cala del Moral area of Rincon de la Victoria and are open daily from 10:00-14:00 and 16:00-20:00 during the summer [15 June - 15 September] and then in the winter they are open daily from 10:00-14:00 and 15:00-18:00. If you visit the caves in August you may be luckly enough to be able to attend the festival of music held inside the caves.
Once a year, during the month of September, Rincon de la Victoria holds the Fiesta of the Boqueron [Anchovy]. So if you are on your holidays in Rincon de la Victoria you will be able to visit the Fiesta which commences with a gastronomy contest for young chefs who present their dishes based, of course, on the anchovy. Festivites follow which includes music and dancing into the night.
If relaxing on the beach is something you enjoy which on holiday, Rincon de la Victoria has a long, sandy beach which benefits from sun loungers, toilets, showers, lifeguards and disabled access. There is a pedestrian promenade and a selection of bars and restaurants as well a water sports and play areas for children.
During the day, you can also visit the weekly market which is held every Wednesday from 09:00-14:00
