TORREMOLINOS TRAVEL GUIDE
Costa del Sol, SpainIf you are looking for a holiday hotel, or apartment in Torremolinos, the following information may help by giving you an overview on the resort.
The first resort west of
Malaga airport lies Torremolinos, the colourful, lively international capital of Costa del Sol. This enormous urbanization caters for all needs with its 90 pubs, 40 discos, plentiful nightclubs and 80 fish restaurants. It delivers everything a holidaymaker requires and has all the home comforts thrown in with British pubs, British breakfasts with British newspapers and magazines.
You can find some of the best beaches on the Costa in Torremolinos, particularly the two main beaches of Playamar and Bajondillo. There is also Playa de la Carihuela fringing Torremolinos’ original fishing village to the west, and the quieter beach of Playa de los Alamos to the east. All the beaches have sunbeds, pedalos and umbrellas to rent, along with showers, restaurants and café-bars. In the peak of summer there are often beach volleyball and football competitions. For watersports, visit
Benalmadena Marina nearby.
The city centre is made up of the Pedestrianized San Miguel area, along with the Plaza Costa del Sol and its surrounding streets. San Miguel is a good place for shopping, window shopping, drinking coffee, eating ice cream and watching the world go by. The prices here are lower than in Marbella. Calle San Miguel also offers amusement arcades, souvenir shops, bars and pubs.
Nightlife on the Costa del Sol tends to start late, with most clubs empty until after midnight. In Torremolinos, there are a huge variety of high tech discos, to dazzling drag shows in the neon-lit San Miguel, which continue on until the early hours.
This loud, brash resort is totally committed to showing people a good time and few other places in Southern Spain can offer as many bars, restaurants and hotels for sun worshippers.
