Located approximately 2kms northwest of Paphos, the 100 tombs on this site cover a wide area and are cut out of the ground with a steep drop into them, so visitors should take care whilst exploring them. Steps lead down into the tombs and often into a whole series of passageways. Each tomb is constructed with Doric columns, dates from around the 3rd century BC and is thought to be where local noblemen and their families were buried. The chambers near the centre of the site do get busy, therefore it maybe an idea to walk a little further to the tombs towards the tombs located at the edge of the area, that are just as impressive. Entrance is inexpensive and there is a café on site.
