Protaras is mainly a summer resort situated on the East coast of Cyprus between Ayia Napa and Paralimni and is also known as Fig Tree Bay because of a fig tree that was once its only landmark! Protaras is generally a flat resort between the coast road and the sea, backed by fertile agricultural land with the red soil typical of the area.

Some areas along the coast do have shingle and flat rocks at the water’s edge, however this does not stop visitors enjoying the variety of water sports on offer. There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols for hire to enable you relax and soak up the sun.
