This beautifully displayed museum was built in 1975. In 1989 a spectacular find of perfectly preserved statues at the Luxor Temple led to the designing of a new gallery specially to accommodate them. The Museum contains a humble collection of the highest quality artworks dating from the Predynastic Period right through to the Islamic era.
