Costa de Antigua is a good choice for holiday makers looking to get away from it all. It's a low key resort, with a scattering of bars and basic resort amenities.

The village of Antigua is located in the east of Fuerteventura close by to the popular tourist resort of Costa Caleta. It is one of the oldest villages in Fuerteventura and once for one year only was the capital of the island. Costa de Antigua is known for it markets and this is advertised where and when this will be taking place!

Costa de Antigua has a small port - 'Pozo Negro' which is where you will find the locals fishing! Dominating the village you will find the picturesque church - Cruz de los Caldos - which was built in 1785, set in a beautiful surroundings of greenery, with a village square that is filled with flowers all year round! The Church is normally open to the general public in the mornings and sometimes the afternoon. The Church is used as a general meeting point for the locals too. Nightlife in Costa de Antigua is only via a few small local bars! So if you are looking for a night out or to eat out in the evening then you will have to go to its close by resort - Costa Caleta - this is a popular tourist resort where you will find endless bars, restaurants and shops. Costa Caleta nightlife can be whatever you want it to be, if you are looking for a party holiday where you can paint the town red and go out every night to dance the night away, there are an array of bars, restaurants and discos that enable's you to do just that until the early hours. Or maybe you are more interested in a sophisticated nightlife where you can dine and drink under the stars, away from the hustle and bustle, in peace and quiet and civilisation - Costa Caleta has that too.

All over Fuerteventura there are windmills dotted about which are a faithful testimony to the its farming tradition. They are being restored as tourist centre's with a vision to recreating the landscape of their working past when Fuerteventura was know as the Granary of the Canary Islands. A Windmill has been fully restored in Antigua and is now a tourist attraction and cultural centre inside the windmill you will find a craft shop that sells the local arts and crafts.
