Playa del Cura is a small, purpose-built tourist development measuring 450 yards east to west, and 600 yards north to south, and centred on a compact beach cove with a shop-free promenade. There isn't a lot here apart from the large, apartment blocks that majestically cling to the cliff face, adding modernisation to an otherwise ancient landscape. It manages to escape the hectic goings-on of larger neighbouring resorts and lacks any real hub, apart from the beach and a very small shopping centre.
Small cove of grey sand with rocks at one end, gently sloping down towards calm waters which are suitable for children. Sunbeds but no parasols; refreshments available at beachfront cafe. The similar but smaller Playa de Tauro, 200 yards away, is accessible at low tide via a rocky path. The attractive but often crowded man-made beach of
Amadores lies just under 2 miles to the east on the edge of
Puerto Rico.
There are a few restaurants including Greek and Canarian; beachside eatery serves international cuisine.
