St. Marks Square is one of the most photographed attractions in the world and lies right in the heart of Venice. The square is defined by arcades on three sides and St. Marks Church on the eastern end.
During the day. St. Marks Square is filled with people, pigeons and music. You can spend the whole day in this area, visiting the interior of St. Marks Church, the Doge's Palace and Museo Correr. Or go to the top of the bell tower for magnificent views of Venice.
After visiting some of the sights, stop for a drink at the historic Caffe Florian or Caffe Quadri, both of which feature open-air orchestras playing in the square.
