Madame Tussauds is a famous wax museum in London, full of sculptures of Sports stars, musicians, actors/actresses and many more. It is the original Madame Tussauds having been situated on Marylebone Road since 1884.
It was set up by wax sculptor Marie Tussauds [1761-1850], who was famous for sculpting such famous people such as Benjamin Franklin and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. In 1802, after travelling Europe for 33 years, Madame Tussaud came to London where she travelled through Great Britain and Ireland, exhibiting her works. By 1835 Marie had settled in Baker Street, London and opened a museum. One of the main attractions of her museum was the Chamber of Horrors, which included victims of the French Revolution and new created figures of murderers and other criminals. By 1883 the restricted space of the museum prompted Marie's grandson to re-locate the museum to its current position, Marylebone Road.
Zones within Madame Tussauds include the A-List party, designed to make you feel liek you have stepped into a celbrity party with figures such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman and David and Victoria Beckham. Other rooms include High School Musical, Premiere Night [Movie Room], Sports Culure and Music. But be sure not to miss the Chamber of Horrors [if you feel brave enough], which showcases serial killers and murders. Included in the area are Guy Fawkes and the original blade that killed Marie Antionette.
