CALA'N PORTER TRAVEL GUIDE
Menorca, Balearic Islands, SpainIf you are looking for a holiday hotel or apartment in Cala'n Porter, the following information may help by giving you an overview on the resort.
The setting of Cala'n Porter [also known as Cala en Porter] is lovely - a wide beach leading to a narrow cove where almost unbelievably turquoise water shimmers between tall limestone cliffs. A barranc [ravine] enters the sea via the marshland at the back of the beach. The western side is totally undeveloped with cliffs tumbling into the sea. The eastern side used to be the same but here you will find hotels, apartments and villas as well as a selection of bars. The most unusual bar is Cova d’en Xoroi, a succession of stairways and rock platform in a natural cave high in the cliff face with dramatic views over the bay and out to sea.
Cala'n Porter is quite a large resort by Menorcan standards and one of the oldest ones on the island. It has an abundance of bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets and a road-train carries visitors up and down from the resort to the beach.
