Monaco, officially the Prinipality of Monaco, is a small sovereign state located in western Europe. It lies on the northern coast of the Mediterranean Sea and is completely enclosed by France. In the springtime, "Le Mistral" wind creates crystal clear skies with temperatures in the 50s-60s. Most summers are in the 80s with hot spells for a week or so in July and August. Sea breezes cool down the evenings. One of the loveliest times to be in Monaco is autumn, with temperatures in the 60s to 70s, people are still sun tanning on the beach until mid-October.

Monte Carlo. People flock to the annual car rally held here in January, but the area owes its popularity to its Grand Casino. The casino is a source of legends - it was instituted by Charles III to save himself from bankruptcy in 1856. This money-making venture was so successful that by 1870 he was able to abolish taxation for his people. The Grand Casino is set an formal gardens and has a great view over Monaco and even the most exclusive of gaming rooms can be visited.
