La Caleta [sometimes described as a gem of a Tenerife fishing village] is just a short drive from
Costa Adeje and is north of Playa del Duque, and makes for a pleasant holiday. Experience a peaceful atmosphere and great fish restaurants, together with a handful of bars [in addition to those found in the resort's hotels]. La Caleta has a small beach which is a combination of pebbles and sand [alot of people take a towel and sunbathe on the rocks in front of the fish restaurants found in La Caleta]! If you take a walk northwards from La Caleta you will come to Playa de Diego Hernandez beach which is very popular with nudists [don't worry - there are non-nudists here as well]. The sea in La Caleta is calm which makes it a good beach for children and also offers decent snorkelling opportunities.
La Caleta is part of the municipality district of Adeje, approximately 25km from Reina Sofia [Tenerife South] Airport and has an elegant stone-laid promenade running beside aqua-blue saltwater pools ... one of which has a waterfall.
In recent years, La Caleta has seen the arrival of hotel developments - such as the 5 Star

H10 Costa Adeje Palace Hotel and

La Casa del Pescado :
Located in the
Jardin Caleta Aparthotel, you will find a large veranda overlooking the main street and will be served Canarian style tapas, fresh fish, paella, to name just a few.
Masia del Mar :
Located in Calle el Muelle this is rather an romantic restaurant overlooking the fishing harbour in La Caleta which serves fresh fish and lobster together with an excellent selection of meat dishes. This restaurant has been open since 1981 and is open from 11:00 to midnight. You will find a large bar area and terrace with a capacity for 240 people and on 5 nights each week you will be entertained by live music.
Restaurant Piscis Terraza :
You will find this adjacent to the Masia del Mar and you can enjoy fresh fish on the terrace which overlooks the sea in La Caleta and you will even be able to see over to the neighbouring island of
La Gomera. This restaurant is smaller than Masia del Mar [capacity of 120 people]. Remember that this restaurant specialises in fish dishes only.
A meal in one of the seafood restaurants on the harbour here gives a taste of the real Tenerife.
