If you are planning a holiday in Cala’n Blanes, Menorca, the following information may help by giving you an overview on the resort and help you to select from our range of accommodation.
Cala’n Blanes [sometimes seen as Cala en Blanes] is to the west of Ciudadela and the coastline was once a succession of small beaches and pretty coves. Now, Cala’n Blanes [together with its neighbours Cala’n Forcat and Calas Piques] have been swallowed up and merged into one, based around the busy tourist complex of Los Delfines.
The whole area around Cala’n Blanes is one of Menorca’s newest resorts – mostly built from the late 1980s onwards to accommodate an increasing demand for holiday accommodation on the island. With the exception of a couple of hotels, accommodation here is mainly self-catering apartments and villas and is generally more suited for families with young children or younger couples.
Cala’n Blanes, Los Delfines and Cala’n Forcat are often described by the major tour operators as being “lively” which, by Menorcan standard they probably are, however don’t expect to find another Magaluf in Mallorca, or Playa de las Americas in Tenerife here as Menorca isn’t like that – which for most people who who holiday here is the attraction.
