If you are planning your holiday in Lajares, Fuerteventura, the following information may help by giving you an overview on the resort.
Located approximately 7km southwest of the resort of Corralejo you will find the village of Lajares a very pretty location complete with white cottages that is known for its handicrafts, especially embroidery. Although you will not find this a village with lots of things to do, you will find a good range of places to eat.
Visit the local lace-making establishment where you will be able to watch the local women making lace and you will also be able to buy some of the products as well as a souvenir of your time in Lajares. This is open Monday to Friday from 09:00-19:00 and on Saturdays up to 13:00.
You will find a couple of windmills located by the village’s church. People from around the region used to make the trek to Larajes in order to get their grain ground, but nowadays both windmills are not working.
