If you are planning your Costa del Silencio holidays, the resort is the southernmost point of Tenerife – only 8 miles from the airport and 10 miles from Playa de las Americas, and was one of the first tourist developments. Its proximity to the airport means that some aircraft noise may be experienced.
There is a small, pebbly beach by Costa del Silencio’s promenade, with sandy beaches at Playa de las Americas and El Medano. However, a few seawater swimming pools make up for the lack of beach. Costa del Silencio includes Las Galletas, a former fishing village with 2 small beaches and a waterfront promenade, and Ten-Bel [one of Tenerife’s first purpose-built self-catering complexes.
Costa del Silencio means Coast of Silence – as its name suggests it is quieter than many resorts, though it is right next to the international airport!
