If you are planning your La Caleta holidays, the following information may help by giving you an overview of the resort.
La Caleta [sometimes described as a gem of a Tenerife fishing village] is just a short drive from Costa Adeje and is north of Playa del Duque, and makes for a pleasant holiday. Experience a peaceful atmosphere and great fish restaurants, together with a handful of bars [in addition to those found in the resort’s hotels]. La Caleta has a small beach which is a combination of pebbles and sand [alot of people take a towel and sunbathe on the rocks in front of the fish restaurants found in La Caleta]!
If you take a walk northwards from La Caleta you will come to Playa de Diego Hernandez beach which is very popular with nudists [don’t worry – there are non-nudists here as well]. The sea in La Caleta is calm which makes it a good beach for children and also offers decent snorkelling opportunities.
La Caleta is part of the municipality district of Adeje, approximately 25km from Reina Sofia [Tenerife South] Airport and has an elegant stone-laid promenade running beside aqua-blue saltwater pools … one of which has a waterfall.
In recent years, La Caleta has seen the arrival of hotel developments – such as the 5 Star Sheraton La Caleta Resort & Spa, the 4 Star H10 Costa Adeje Palace Hotel, and Riu Arecas Hotel [to name but a few].
